2020

Due to Covid-19 and the ensuing pandemic and lack of funding the construction of the building has been delayed.

2019

Museum recieved funding from Babson Carpenter towards the project building construction deposit

January 2017-

Thanks to the Routt County Museum and Heritage Commission the Museum was awarded a MAHFAB matching grant to get the Granarys' reconstruction documents completed. Local architects Kevin and Wendy Lind of Axial Arts are currently developing the plans.

The Expansion project became an approved Enterprise Zone Project in which cash donations may be eligible for a 20% tax credit!!!! Please make sure to talk with Museum curator Laurel Watson about this great opportunity and to get any needed paperwork!!!!

Sept. 2016-

- Thanks to generous donors and The Babson Carpenter Foundation in Hayden, the Museum completed Phase 2 of the Museum Expansion project summer of 2016

Phase two included the DeConstruction and moving of the Historic Holderness Granary materials to the Museum property to be reconstructed.

The Museum collaborated with The National Center of Craftsmanship (NCC) to deconstruct the  aprox. 1800 sq ft structure which was built between 1928-1940 by local Jack Holderness. The building is a remnant of Routt Countys bountiful agricultural past- when West Routt County grew various grain crops in abundance.  The NCC is a nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to the preservation, enhancement, and sustainability of high quality craftsmanship through their DeConstruct program where they train a targeted group including youth, women, minorities, and at-risk and disadvantaged populations for high skilled, craftsman vocational occupations.
